Problem Statement
How can we improve existing campus response systems to mitigate optimism bias and encourage proactive emergency preparedness, promoting a safer campus environment?
Case Study Video
I wrote the script and storyboard for this video and designed 2 motion graphics on Canva. There are clips of me conducting the codesign workshop in this video as well.
Marketing Campaign Strategy
Through our codesign workshops and surveys, we realized that students don't care about safety because they don't see anyone else in their community caring. We realized that we had to develop a 'culture of preparedness' on campus along with an improved alert system. We decided to lean into awareness-driven marketing campaigns.
Introducing Preparedness Kits
'Only 3 out of 10 students own preparedness supplies'
This statistic acted as the trigger to create 'Preparedness Kits'. These kits are practical, engaging tools designed to both support student safety and spark conversations about Flare! and emergency readiness on campus. Each kit includes essentials like band-aids, stickers, and safety pamphlets, blending function with approachable education.
More Marketing Mockups
In terms of my contribution, I came up with the idea to create preparedness kits. I also designed the brochure and wrote the copy which guided the art direction of the entire brand towards the black and white doodles.
